The United Nations humanitarian coordinator for Ukraine, Denise Brown, condemned this Thursday the recent air attacks against the city of Kherson, in southern Ukraine, which have left numerous civilians injured, including two children.
“This comes one day after my return from Kharkiv, where I saw the terrible consequences that these intensified attacks by the Russian Armed Forces have on thousands of people who have had to flee for their lives, leaving behind everything they owned,” Brown said in a statement.
Likewise, he has reiterated that international humanitarian law “must be respected.” “It is necessary to guarantee the safety of civilians, homes, schools and hospitals. They are not a military objective,” Brown concluded.
The head of the Kherson military administration, Roman Mrochko, reported the day before that 19 people were injured in renewed shelling of the area by Russian forces, the Ukrinform news agency reported.
