Ukrainian forces continue to exert pressure in the north of the Kharkov region and are already less than 50 kilometers from the Russian border. At the same time, they have made progress in the south and east of the region, as announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Fedorovych Zaluzhnyi.
These achievements come a day after Zelensky’s troops conquered several enclaves in one fell swoop, a situation that has caused the Russian troops to abandon the largest stronghold they held in the Kharkov region.
According to Zaluzhnyi on Telegram, Ukrainian troops have recovered more than 3,000 square kilometers of territory in the month of September alone and assures that “Ukraine continues to liberate territories occupied by Russia”, according to Reuters.

On the other side, the Russian Defense Ministry has reported that its troops were attacking Ukrainian army positions in the Kharkov region with precision attacks launched by its air troops, with missiles and artillery.
However, the withdrawal from the city of Izium is the worst defeat of the Kremlin forces since they were expelled from kyiv in March, when thousands of Russian soldiers had to abandon their ammunition and equipment and fled.
