The head of Ukraine’s intelligence services, Kirilo Budanov, has stated that Russia does not have “the military, economic or political potential” to launch another “serious” attempt at a military offensive against Ukrainian territory.
Budanov has been firm in this theory, but has pointed out that Moscow is “fully capable” of launching defense operations in the occupied territory. “This is the problem we will soon be facing,” he said, referring to the anticipated Ukrainian counter-offensive against Russian troops this spring.
The head of Intelligence also believes that Russian missile reserves are “almost zero”, and they are trying to replenish them to be prepared for a Ukrainian offensive, as stated in an interview for the Yahoo news portal.
For his part, the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelensky, has indicated in his daily speech this Sunday that Ukraine is “preparing for new events in May and June.”
In addition, a week ago the Ukrainian Defense Minister, Oleksi Reznikov, announced that “everything is ready” for the much-announced counteroffensive against the Russian forces, leaving it to the General Staff to set the date.
