Aug. 16 () –
The company that manages Ukraine’s nuclear infrastructure, Energoatom, has denounced that its website suffered the biggest cyberattack on Tuesday since Russia began its military offensive on Ukraine in February.
The company has attributed this action to Russian hackers, in which hundreds of millions of views were simulated for several hours to try to saturate the web, according to a statement released on the official Telegram profile.
The attack, however, has not significantly affected the activity of the portal, to the point that it would have gone unnoticed by users, Energoatom explained.
This incident occurs in full escalation of tensions in the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has requested access to the area for fear of an accident.
