Isabel II, Lula, Petro, Macron or Meloni have been protagonists in 2022. Today it is time to take stock of the year that is about to end. We analyze what has marked the news of these twelve months on the planet.
2022 will go down in history for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Putin’s war and all the destruction it has caused. It is undoubtedly the news of the year that we have just finished and from there its derivatives: the energy crisis, inflation, etc… But 2022 also leaves us with another handful of headlines with their own names: starting with the death of Isabel II, the turn on the abortion in the US, the riots in Iran, the return of Lula in Brazil, the re-election of Macron in France, the third term for Xi Jinping in China and the protests against zero covid policies in China or the World Cup in Qatar with Argentina’s triumph. Add to this some issues that continue and intensify such as increasingly extreme weather events or the dramatic arrivals of migrants.
