Ukraine launches new bombings on petrochemical facilities and an airfield on Russian territory

MADRID Jan. 14 () –

Last night, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched new bombings against industrial facilities in Russian territory; On this occasion, explosions have been reported at the ammunition depot at the Engels airfield and a petrochemical plant in the town of Aleksin.

The governor of Saratov, Roman Busargin, has confirmed that the region “has been the target of a massive attack with unmanned aerial vehicles”, of which, he explained, “a large number” have been neutralized by air defenses.

“As a result of the attack, two industrial companies in Saratov and Engels have been damaged,” he said in a message on his Telegram account, from where he also highlighted the absence of victims.

From the Ukrainian side they have celebrated that this “special operation” has left several fires in Russian facilities. “Explosions have occurred at chemical plants, oil processing warehouses and warehouses at the Engels airfield,” a source from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said.

Likewise, other attacks have been confirmed in chemical factories in the city of Aleksin, in the Tula region, and in Bryansk, where “a large fire with subsequent explosions has been recorded,” Ukrainian agencies report.

“The SBU, together with the Defense Forces, continues to hit enemy military installations and companies working for the Russian military-industrial complex. Every ammunition depot, refinery, oil depot or chemical plant hit is a serious blow to the ability of Russia to wage war,” the source highlighted.
