Winter will bring new challenges to the conditions of the conflict, according to British Intelligence
Winter will bring a change in the conditions of the conflict, including less offensive and more static defensive fronts and an increased risk of gun malfunctionaccording to him UK Ministry of Defense. Changes in daylight hours, temperature, and weather will present unique challenges for fighting soldiers. A reduction in daylight hours will translate into fewer offensives and more static defensive fronts, suggests the latest British Intelligence report. The capacity of night vision it will also be a prized commodity, further exacerbating the unwillingness to fight at night. As temperatures drop, forces without winter clothing and shelter are likely to suffer non-frostbite injuries, the report added. Also, the window ‘golden hour’ in which saving a seriously wounded soldier is roughly halved, making the risk of contact with the enemy much higher. An increase in precipitation, wind speed and snowfall will create additional challenges to the already low morale of the Russian forces and it will also present problems for the maintenance of the equipment. Basic exercises such as gun cleaning need to be adjusted to conditions and the risk of gun malfunction increases.

EU foreign ministers reaffirm their support for Ukraine
The foreign ministers of the European Union will discuss this Monday the situation of the war in Ukraine, with the advances of the Ukrainian troops in Kherson, in a meeting in which they will give the go-ahead to new sanctions against Iran. The EU Foreign Affairs Council will have the participation by videoconference of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, at a time when the European partners are looking towards 2023 with the idea of guaranteeing funds and support for kyiv, with the imminent implementation underway of the military training mission of the Ukrainian Army. Diplomatic sources point out that it is important to take stock and “put everything together”, reiterating support for Ukraine on all fronts. The appointment will serve to insist on sanctions, in addition to stressing the strategy of diplomatically isolating Russia and seeking alliances with international partners so that they align themselves in the conflict in Ukraine. After news has circulated in recent weeks that USA has asked the Ukrainian authorities not to close the door on negotiations with Russia, in Brussels they insist that there is unity in the Western world in that kyiv is the main actor at this time and it is only up to the Ukrainians to decide when to enter into a negotiating table.
