13 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Ukrainian Emergency Service has estimated at 174,000 square kilometers -17.4 million hectares- the part of the national territory potentially plagued by mines in the framework of the war, declared at the end of February 2022 by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

“People should remember this. In fact, every day we receive emergency cases of people being injured or killed by mines and exploded ammunition,” said the spokesman for the State Emergency Service, Oleksander Jorunzhi, reported Ukrinform.

According to Khorunzhi, the regions where explosive objects are mainly accumulated are Kharkov and Kherson, while the territories of Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Sumi, Chernihiv and Kiev are partially mined.

However, the spokesman for the Emergency Service has celebrated that the surroundings of “all critical infrastructure and life support facilities” in the Kiev region have already “been cleared. “Maybe some forest areas and fields remain,” he warned. .
