The Ukrainian authorities have denounced this Saturday a Russian rocket attack in the center of the capital, kyiv, which has caused damage to a “non-residential” building and an “infrastructure target”, although there is no record of deaths or injuries.
At first, authorities have reported at least one rocket attack in the neighborhood in the Dniprovskyi (or Dnipro) neighborhood, on the left bank of the river that divides the capital into two halves, according to the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko.
“Explosions in the Dnipro district. All services are heading to the place. Stay in the shelters!” Klitschko has made known in his Telegram account.
The attack was immediately verified by the capital’s military administration. “Rocket attack on the capital. Stay in the shelters,” according to the message.
Shortly after, the mayor has confirmed that the remains of a rocket have fallen in the Holosiiv neighborhood, on the right bank of the river, with no victims to lament.
The deputy advisor to the Ukrainian Presidency, Kirilo Timoshenko, specified that the attack was directed against “critical infrastructure facilities” at around 09:30 a.m. (08:30 a.m., Spanish peninsular time) and reported that at least one target had been hit. although the extent of the damage is unknown.
“The details are being clarified,” added the adviser in his Telegram account. “There is no preliminary information about the victims,” he added.
Shortly after the message, the authorities have issued an air alert for the capital and the region of the same name.
