The Ukrainian Armed Forces have denounced this Thursday that the Russian Army has made use of Belarusian airspace to launch an attack against the Khmelnitski region, in western Ukrainian territory.
This was announced by the deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksei Gromov, who detailed that the last time Russia launched an attack from Belarusian airspace was at the end of August.
“This morning, four Tu-22 M3 aircraft of the strategic aviation of the aggressor country, from the airspace of Belarus, have launched an air attack on the territory of Ukraine,” Gramov denounced, according to the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN.
The Ukrainian authorities have confirmed this Thursday a Russian attack against key infrastructure in the Khmelnitski region, although they have stressed that there have been no injuries or deaths, nor more than minor material damage to homes.
Ukraine has repeatedly warned that the Russian Armed Forces are using the territory and airspace of its neighboring country and great ally to launch offensives in the context of the war, which began more than seven months ago.
