MADRID Dec. 31 () –

The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this Tuesday the downing of a Russian Air Force helicopter with a marine drone, “a historic attack” without precedent and which would have taken place over the waters of the Black Sea.

According to Ukrainian Military Intelligence, the attack was carried out by a Magura V5 drone, equipped with missiles, and caused the downing of a Mi-8 helicopter near the Crimean peninsula. The note published on social networks is accompanied by video images of the demolition.

During the fighting, a second Russian helicopter of the same type was also hit, although this device was able to return to its base.

Since the beginning of the conflict, the Black Sea has been one of the main battle scenes between Russian and Ukrainian forces. Despite its theoretical naval superiority, Russia has been reducing its presence in the area, to the point that the Ukrainian Navy estimated this Tuesday that there is only one “enemy” ship in the Black Sea and it does not have missiles.
