Ukrainian drones have recently bombed the Morozovsk airbase in the Rostov region, as well as warehouses and fuel depots located in the same region, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Rostov Governor Vasily Golubev has announced the attack. “As a result of a massive drone attack, several warehouses in the Kamensky and Morozovsky districts have been damaged,” he said. Emergency services have already extinguished the arson attacks.
The governor confirmed damage to public facilities such as schools, kindergartens, residential buildings and industrial facilities, although he did not mention the base.
Goluev said that 55 drones were involved in the attack on Rostov, but stressed that there were no casualties or injuries. In response to the attack, Goluev announced a state of emergency in the Morozovsky district.
“Municipal workers have started a door-to-door inspection this morning to assess the damage caused by this night-time attack,” he said.
Ukraine has stressed that the attacks on air bases “allowed us to postpone the attacks for several days” because damage was caused to Russian bombers, according to the head of the Intelligence Directorate headed by Kirilo Budanov.
