MADRID Nov. 1 () – All regions of Ukraine have begun this Friday the so-called “heating season”, the third since the beginning of the Russian invasion of the country in February 2022, without the Ukrainian state operator has announced restrictions due to Russian attacks.
“It is expected that the decrease in air temperature at the beginning of next week will cause an increase in the level of energy consumption,” said Ukrenergo, without giving any information about possible outages.
Regions that are part of the war front, such as Kherson or Kharkiv, “are preparing taking into account the difficult situation of the energy infrastructure damaged by the bombings”, and “the necessary equipment, fuels and lubricants and generators have been stored for a uninterrupted heating,” added the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
“We ask citizens,” Ukrenergo finally requests, “to trust only official sources of information, and to experts and officials of energy companies to refrain from making comments that go beyond their competence,” the state company in a statement collected by the Kosatka Media portal.
