1 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Ukrainian Defense Minister, Oleksi Reznikov, assured this Monday that “everything is ready” for the much-announced Ukrainian counter-offensive against the Russian forces and that it now only depends on the General Staff when and where to launch it.

“I think that from today we can enter the final stretch and say: Yes, everything is ready,” Reznikov said on state television. “The General Staff, the commander in chief and his team will decide how, where and when based on the decision and understanding of the situation on the battlefield,” he added.

Reznikov has shown himself convinced of the success of this operation and has stressed his confidence in all the high military commanders who have been organizing this counteroffensive. “A lot has been done to make them successful,” he said.

“After all, if there is no confidence in our generals, in our General Staff, from the Central Committee to the commanders of the relevant branches of the Armed Forces, this would be meaningless,” he asserted.

Reznikov has pointed out that this belief in victory not only in this operation, but in the rest of the future of the war is something that is also shared by Ukraine’s international partners, since they are aware that the victory in Kiev “is in the interest of the security of their countries and their peoples”.

“This is more than a feeling for me, it is a well-informed conviction. (…) I am an informed realist,” he said. “The most important thing is that everyone understands that democracy should be the type of government that should prevail. It’s not perfect, but no one has come up with a better one,” she said.
