March 14 () –

The Ukrainian Defense Minister, Oleksei Reznikov, has announced that a military meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group (UDCG), known as the ‘Ramstein format’, will be held this Wednesday to discuss military assistance to Kiev.

This has been confirmed on his official Facebook profile after meeting with the Dutch Defense Minister, Kajsa Ollongren, as part of a visit to the Ukrainian city of Odesa, located in the southwest of the country, on the shores of the Black Sea.

The day before, Reznikov spoke by phone with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who assured on his Twitter profile that Washington “will continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary.”

For his part, his Ukrainian counterpart stressed that their conversation was about cooperation between kyiv and Washington. “This genuine support from allies makes me optimistic about the future. Solidarity translates into efficiency on the battlefield,” he said.

The Ramstein group, the military coalition of more than 40 countries that supports Ukraine under the leadership of the United States, ruled out in its last meeting, held on February 14, the sending of combat aircraft to Ukraine.

The latest meeting, held at NATO headquarters in Brussels, was meant to hammer out details about supplying tanks to Ukraine, although few new announcements came from the meeting beyond the coalition’s commitment to Kiev.
