The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, and the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, signed an agreement on Wednesday with the aim of promoting cooperation in the supply of defense equipment to Kiev.

The memorandum aims to facilitate the shipment of Polish weapons to Ukraine, mainly Rosomak-type armored vehicles, as well as Rak self-propelled mortars and Piorun-type missiles, the Ukrainian Presidency reported in a statement.

“This is not only about support, but also about cooperation, particularly in the form of purchases, which will strengthen the defense potential of both Ukraine and Poland,” Zelensky stressed, adding that the agreement has been “very substantive.”

The statement comes after the two leaders met in Warsaw to discuss a series of issues, including tariffs on Ukrainian wheat, which in Poland have led, due to protests by farmers, to the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. from Poland, Henryk Kowalczyk.

Zelensky has made few trips abroad since the outbreak of the war with Russia, unleashed on February 24, 2022 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Poland has been an important ally of kyiv since the start of the invasion.
