UK sanctions three members of Iran's Quds Force for their activity against Israel

September 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –

British authorities on Monday imposed sanctions against three more members of the Quds Force, a special unit of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, for allegedly carrying out activities aimed at “destabilising” several countries, including the United Kingdom and Israel.

The three have been added to the UK sanctions list along with Unit 700 of the Quds Force itself, whose assets have been completely frozen for “collaborating in hostile activities supported by the Iranian Government (…) with the aim of destabilizing the United Kingdom and other countries,” according to the British Government’s website.

The three sanctioned individuals have been identified as Hamid Fazeli, a Revolutionary Guard commander who is alleged to have engaged in anti-Israel activities, Abolfata Anvazian and Behnam Shahriyari. They are all now banned from entering British territory.

Anvazian has been charged with “assisting in the development of malign activities to destabilise the United Kingdom”, while Shahriyari is alleged to have worked to destabilise Israel, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon.
