The British Foreign Minister, James Cleverly, has reiterated his request to North Korea to abandon the ballistic missile program on the day he held a meeting with the South Korean president, Yoon Suk Yeol, with whom he discussed the strategy Pyongyang’s weapons.
“I urge North Korea to change course and abandon its ballistic weapons program,” Cleverly said on his Twitter account, shortly after visiting the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea.
The head of British diplomacy has applauded Yoon’s initiative to offer economic support to his northern neighbor, a measure that he has described as “bold”.
However, he has reproached Pyongyang for its response to Seoul’s proposals by firing more ballistic missiles and failing to comply with UN Security Council resolutions.
