UCSC will host the International Congress of Student Researchers in Health Sciences

The event will take place from Monday the 9th to Friday the 13th of January and will have exhibitions in a hybrid mode.

With the participation of students and academics from countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Chile, the third version of the International Congress of Student Researchers in Health Sciences will be held, organized by the UCSC School of Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Concepción and the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Atacama.

“The activity arises as a need identified by the academic teams of the three mentioned universities. Specifically, it has been dragging on since the pandemic began and we had no options to generate this type of congress or scientific conferences. However, in that period we looked for a way and we did it virtually. This year, and considering the different conditions, we proposed to make a hybrid conference”, commented the academic from the Department of Nursing Sciences of the UCSC, Claudia Carrasco.

The program considers batches of talks and presentations of face-to-face and distance work, from Monday, January 9 to Friday, January 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the San Lucas and San Mateo auditoriums on the San Andrés Campus.

“The expectations we have of the event is that it be a significant learning experience in the field of scientific research competitions for students. Thus, we hope that they feel motivated by this area of knowledge development, which will allow them to develop a practice based on evidence and with perspectives of knowledge development”, concluded the nurse.
