The fifth version of the Biobío Future Congress addressed the topics of “Astronomy” and “Public health, patient care, endocrinology.”
With the participation of prominent guests, the fifth version of the Biobío Future Congress was held, organized by the Encuentros del Futuro Foundation (FEF), together with the Senate’s Future Challenges Commission, with the support at the local level of the Regional University Linkage Board , led by the Regional Government of Biobío, made up of the University of Concepción, the University of Bío-Bío and the Catholic University of the Santísima Concepción.
“Astronomy” and “Public health, patient care, endocrinology” were the topics that were presented at the largest knowledge decentralization and democratization event in the country, which in 2023 had the motto “No real limit.”
Present at the meeting were academics from UCSC, Carlos Zúñiga, from the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Patrick Concha, from the Faculty of Engineering, who were part of both panels, where perspectives from different disciplines were shared.

The Rector of UCSC, Dr. Cristhian Mellado, highlighted the collaborative nature of the instance, which aims to contribute to the Region, “another example of this is the work we are doing at CRUCH Biobío Ñuble by offering Latin America and the world the first Doctorate in Artificial Intelligence, once again demonstrating the conviction that collaborative work for the growth of the Region”.
Meanwhile, for the head of the Promotion and Industry Division of the Biobío Regional Government, Iván Valenzuela, “something is happening in Biobío: we are promoting science and technology with resources, which means that in a year and a half FIC resources have been put in for almost 29,000 million. This is the way to move towards where we want to take the Biobío. And the Future Congress enables the development and creation of knowledge to be promoted. If we want to take Biobío to the place it deserves, because we have all the capabilities, this congress is manifesting itself in that way”.
