July 19 (Portaltic/EP) –

Ubisoft has announced that it will delay the release of mobile games Rainbow Six and The Division Resurgence by a few months because the development team needs time to “meet player expectations.”

The company has announced this extension in the presentation of its latest earnings report, where it has announced that both titles – belonging to two of the franchises derived from Tom Clancy- debut in its current fiscal year, which ends March 31 of next year.

Ubisoft has said that the first quarter of this fiscal year has been marked by strong growth in session days of 15 percent on consoles and PC, which has been driven “primarily” by the games as a service (GaaS).

On behalf of XDefiant, the developer has commented that it has “had an encouraging start”, while Rainbow Six Siege “started the year with a solid performance,” as stated in this report.

Looking ahead to new releases for the rest of the fiscal year, Ubisoft has indicated that it will publish Assassin’s Creed: Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws, which is expected to arrive on August 30, before the end of the year. However, the same is “not expected” to happen with the games Rainbow Six Mobile – which was expected to arrive in 2022 – and The Division Resurgence, also planned for the end of last year.

The delay in its release is due to the development teams “taking the time necessary to ensure that these experiences meet the expectations” of players.

To do this, those working on these titles are optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) “in the context of a demanding but very large market“, according to this results report.
