Ubisoft clarifies that Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD and Silent Hunter 5 will be playable after the end of online support

Ubisoft has clarified that the closure of ‘online’ services will not affect those users who have previously purchased Assassin’s Creed: Liberation Y silent hunter 5, since they will be able to “access, play and download it again” when the company concludes this support on September 1.

At the end of April, the French developer closed the servers of dozens of its games for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Wii U. With this, removed the online multiplayer mode of dozens of his video games.

So, he also stated that unlockable content (ULC), such as maps and skins, would also be disabled and would no longer be available even if they had been previously purchased.

A few days ago, Ubisoft updated the list of video games that would be left without online services and indicated the different modifications for each game and support platform.

This determines that the publisher will close online services for PC for some titles, while other games will no longer be available for other platforms.

Two of the video games affected by the closure of this service are Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD and Silent Hunter 5, which on the Steam website were listed as unavailable for purchase “at the publisher’s request”.

In addition, it indicated that users who had downloaded these video games would not be able to access them again “after September 1, 2022”, so they would be completely disabled.

However, Ubisoft has ruled out that both titles are no longer playable through Steam and has clarified in a statement sent to Europa Press what will be specifically deactivated and what it is currently working on.

“Only the DLCs and the ‘online’ features will be affected by the deactivation. Current owners of those games will still be able to access, play or re-download them.”

With this, the company has ensured that it is working with its ‘partners’ (to update this information in all stores and they are also evaluating all the options available to players who will be affected” with the closure of online services.

“It has always been our intention to do everything in our power to allow those titles of the past remain available in the best conditions possible for the players”, Ubisoft has finally underlined.

For its part, Steam has updated the information on its Web pagewhere it is clarified that the downloadable content and the ‘online’ elements will no longer be available from September 1 and that the game will continue to be available if it has been purchased before said date.
