Ubisoft has announced the cease your XDefiant video game, that no longer allows the registration of new players or purchases within the title, and that it will stop offering service on its servers on June 3, 2025.

Likewise, although the company plans to release season 3 of XDefiant “as a token of gratitude” to its development teams and players, Ubisoft It will stop keeping its servers active as of June 3, 2025.

As the company has explained in a statement on their websitedespite having “an encouraging start” and an “engaged fan base”, have failed to attract and retain enough long-term players to compete at the level required by the “demanding free FPS markets.” As a result, Ubisoft has ruled that XDefiant “is too far from achieving the results needed to allow further investment “significant” and, therefore, has decided to definitively close the title.

In addition, it has indicated that those users who have purchased the Ultimate Founder’s Pack or who have made purchases in the last 30 days will receive a full refund.

Following this line, the developer has also shared that, as a result of the closure, there will be carried out layoffs in their studio teams of production in San Francisco (United States) and Osaka (Japan), as well as the reduction of production at its development center in Sydney (Australia).

Specifically, Ubisoft has pointed out that almost the half of the global XDefiant team will move to other positions within Ubisoftbut 143 people in the San Francisco studio and a total of 134 people in the Osaka and Sydney studios will also stop working for the company.
