() – Two teenagers “handed themselves in” hours after a disused building was destroyed in a fire in Sydney, Australian police said Friday.
Although no injuries have been reported, police said 15 homeless people had spent the night in the building before it burned down.
Police said they had contacted 13 of those people so far.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Acting Deputy Chief Constable Paul Dunstan said two 13-year-olds had “handed themselves in” late on Thursday night and were “assisting police with enquiries”.

Dunstan called on “three or four” other “young people present during the fire” to come forward with their parents “and give their version of events.”
The fire raged through Thursday night and caused a “significant structural collapse” at the building in central Sydney, Dunstan said.
Images showed one of the building’s walls collapsing.
“We are continuing to dampen down the hot spots. We will continue for some time to get the final extinguishment there,” said Jeremy Fewtrell, deputy commissioner of Fire and Rescue.
Fewtrell said engineers were now assessing the building to determine the integrity of the burned structure.
