At least two Pakistani soldiers have been killed this Thursday in an attack carried out by unidentified armed persons against a checkpoint located in the province of Balochistan, near the border with Iran, as confirmed by the Pakistan Army.

The Pakistani Army press service stated in a statement that the attack was perpetrated against a post in the Singuan area and stressed that the military “responded bravely and with all available weapons, triggering an intense exchange of fire”.

“The security forces repelled the terrorists, although during the intense exchange of fire two brave soldiers embraced martyrdom,” he said, before identifying the deceased as Hasnain Ishtiaq and Inayatulá. At the moment there is no claim of responsibility for the attack.

In this sense, he stressed that “the security forces immediately launched a cleanup operation in the area and are in communication with the Iranian authorities to deny the terrorists the opportunity to escape.” “The security forces, in line with the nation, are determined to prevent attempts to sabotage peace and stability on the Balochistan border,” he stressed.
