April 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least two members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), led by the Kurdish militia People's Protection Units (YPG), have been killed in a new attack carried out by suspected members of the Islamic State jihadist group in eastern Syria.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in London and with informants in the Asian country, has stated that the attack was carried out against an SDF checkpoint in the town of Dhiban, located in the province of Deir Ezzor.
Likewise, he highlighted that the attackers managed to flee to an unknown whereabouts, without the FDS having commented on the incident for now. Likewise, the Islamic State has not claimed responsibility, although it has carried out dozens of attacks in the area in recent months.
The jihadist group does not control territories in Syria after its expulsion from Baghuz in 2019 by the SDF, although it continues to carry out attacks in the country, especially in a desert area in the triangle formed by the borders between the provinces of Raqqa, Homs and Deir Ezzor.
