Two Israeli soldiers wounded after being shot in Huwara, West Bank

March 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Two Israeli soldiers have been injured after being shot from a moving vehicle in the Palestinian town of Huwara, in the West Bank.

The Israeli Armed Forces have reported the incident, which occurred on Route 60, on the outskirts of Nablus. The Israeli Army has installed checkpoints on several roads in the Nablus region. It is the third attack carried out in Huwara in recent weeks.

The two soldiers have been transferred to the Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikvah, one of them with a serious prognosis. The other has moderate injuries. Both are stable and their lives are not in danger.

Last Sunday an Israeli was seriously wounded by gunshots while driving through Huwara. Three weeks earlier, two Israeli brothers died after being shot while traveling in a car through the town.

Huwara is the only Palestinian town in the West Bank that Israelis drive through to reach the settlements. A detour is planned to avoid the passage, but construction is paralyzed.
