Two people have been killed and more than a dozen injured in Russian airstrikes in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities have said.

The most serious incident occurred in the city of Glukhiv in Sumi province, where a 14-year-old boy was killed and 13 others were injured by an anti-aircraft shell, according to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, citing the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office.

The projectile hit the city centre at around 12.40 on Saturday (11.40 in mainland Spain). “A 14-year-old boy died as a result of the impact. He died in hospital. Thirteen other people, including seven minors, were injured,” the police said in a statement. The impact affected several homes in a block of flats, a school, a shop and several vehicles.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old woman was killed in the town of Antonivka by a Russian shell, the military governor of the Kherson region, Oleksander Prokudin, said on his Telegram account.

“An hour ago, a resident of Antonivka was killed in an enemy shelling. A 37-year-old woman was fatally wounded,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian drone damaged a Russian Tu-22M3 military bomber at the Olenya airbase in Russia’s Murmansk region last night. A Ukrainian kamikaze drone also hit a refinery in Ryazan.
