Two dead and several injured in a strong explosion at a Toyota factory in the Italian city of Bologna

Two people have died and several turned out wounds this Wednesday because of a burst inside a company factory Toyota on the outskirts of the Italian city of Bologna (north), as confirmed by emergency teams.

The provisional balance of the tragedy is two injured of varying severity and two dead, one at the scene and another after being transferred to the hospital, as confirmed by the fire department.

The explosion occurred in a factory in ‘Toyota Material Handlinga company that produces machinery to move merchandise from the Japanese group, near the Bolognese airport, and could be felt in nearby towns such as Calderara di Reno.

The mayor of the latter, Giampero Falzone, reported on his social networks that “the situation could be very serious” and that firefighters, agents of the Carabineros (militarized police) and emergency services have already arrived at the scene.

The explosion occurred in the middle of the afternoon, around 5:30 p.m. local time, in a company warehouse, presumably by la compressor explosion that caused the roof to collapse, according to local press reports.

The mayor of BolognaMatteo Lepore, also went to the scene of the accident and conveyed “deep condolences” to the relatives and colleagues of the victims.
