Twitter has announced that its Community Notesrecently released, will now require all contributors on the social network to rate a sufficient number of notes before they can unlock the ability to write notes themselves.
These notes have recently been used to correct Elon Musk in some of his performances., so it is not surprising the appearance of changes in its operation. However, it does not seem that this is not directly related to the recent events in the social network, at least judging by the start of this change.
As we read in the Twitter account dedicated to this functionality, in September new contributors were required to rate a certain number of community notes before they could write their own notes of the community. This has apparently increased the quality of community notes significantly.
Additionally, users who want to contribute with the community notes must have at least 6 months of seniority in the social network, In addition to having no recent violations of the Twitter Community Guidelines, As far as we can remember, they have been changing recently on several occasions.
