The feature, which will go live in May, will allow users who do not subscribe to a monthly subscription to pay a higher price per article when they want to read one occasionally, Musk tweeted.
The tycoon had said that Twitter will cut content subscriptions by 10% after the first year, but not during the first 12 months. These subscriptions include long texts and videos lasting several hours.
Since taking the reins of the social network in October, Musk has been quick to introduce a series of changes to the products and organization. The company launched the blue verification symbol as a payment service and reduced the workforce by 80%.
Musk has introduced changes to boost Twitter’s revenue after the platform saw ad revenue plummet last year in the run-up to its acquisition.
