July 28 (Portaltic/EP) –
Twitter has started testing a new functionality with which users can provide additional information to their followers through posts, through moods or descriptions.
It is a tool that, at the moment, only has a select group of users of the social network of both USA like Australia.
As confirmed by a Twitter spokesman to TechCrunch, the platform will be testing this new feature “for a limited time” with the aim that users “can transmit better” what they are doing through their tweets.
“The feature allows you to add a status to tweets to provide more context to his followers,” This spokesman has pointed out, who has indicated that thanks to this option information can be added on “reflections made in the shower or opinions on how they feel on Mondays”.
This medium also indicates that the states, as well as the emoji that accompanies them, appear below the username and apply exclusively to that tweet.
At the moment, and because Twitter statuses are in their infancy, they don’t appear to be moderated or managed.
It should be remembered that the application researcher Jane Manchun Wong discovered this feature at the end of last April. So the states they could be applied in a tweet or in a general profile.
However, TechCrunch notes that in this latest test, users can only add context to specific tweets and can click on these statuses to discover other posts with the same status.
