At least twelve Pakistani Army soldiers have died in a suicide attack in the northwest of the country, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, authorities reported this Wednesday.
The attack, carried out on Tuesday in the Bannu district, targeted a checkpoint that was partially destroyed, causing the death of ten soldiers and two members of the border forces, reports the ‘Dawn’ newspaper.
After the explosion, a shootout occurred that ended with the death of six terrorists, alleged members of the group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known as the Pakistani Taliban and responsible for dozens of attacks against security forces.
