July 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least twelve people have died this Wednesday due to the collapse of a wall on a bridge under construction due to torrential rains in recent hours in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, as confirmed by the authorities.
The Police have indicated that next to the wall, about 30 meters long and 3.3 meters high, a camp had been set up for the workers to live during the period of works in the area, as reported by the chain Pakistani broadcaster Geo TV.
Search and rescue teams continue to work in the area, located in the Golra Mor area, so it is not ruled out that there may be more victims, as it is feared that several workers have been trapped in the rubble.
On the other hand, an eleven-year-old girl has died from the collapse of another wall in Islamabad, in the midst of heavy rains that have led the authorities to evacuate several areas of the Pakistani capital and the adjacent city of Rawalpindi.
