Türkiye "neutralizes" 32 suspected PKK members in new attacks in northern Syria

MADRID Jan. 5 () –

The Turkish authorities announced this Sunday the “neutralization” of 36 alleged members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in military operations, 32 in northern Syria and four more in Iraq.

“32 PKK/YPG terrorists identified in northern Syria and 4 PKK terrorists identified in northern Iraq were neutralized by our heroic Turkish Armed Forces,” the Turkish Defense Ministry published in a message on X.

“Terrorists cannot and will not escape the end that awaits them! Our fight against terrorist organizations wherever they are will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized!” the text adds.

The Turkish Army supports the pro-Turkish militias in northern Syria, which have launched an offensive against the Syrian Kurdish militia People’s Protection Units (YPG) – linked to the PKK -, integrated into the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) after the fall on December 8 of the Bashar al Assad regime.
