Turkish authorities have said they are committed to finding a solution to rising tensions between Israel and Iran while trying to end the war in Gaza. The head of the National Intelligence Agency (MIT), Ibrahim Kalin, has held talks with the head of the CIA, William Burns, focused on negotiations on the ceasefire in the Palestinian enclave.

These conversations, which took place recently, were followed by a phone call between Kalin and the head of the political branch of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, to whom he conveyed the importance of committing to dialogue and the reduction of tensions.

Security sources have indicated that during the call the talks focused on negotiations on the ceasefire in Gaza, the provision of humanitarian aid to the region and the possibility of a hostage exchange.

Fidan has also expressed his concern to the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, to whom he has stressed the importance of a ceasefire that leads to a possible reduction in tensions between Israel and Iran after the fact.
