19 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Turkish Army has assured this Wednesday that it has “neutralized” six presumed members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in new bombardments carried out against positions of the group in the semi-autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan, in northern Iraq.

“We tirelessly continue to destroy their hideouts above their heads. Six PKK terrorists have been neutralized in the ‘Claw Closure’ operation in Iraq,” the Turkish Ministry of Defense said through a message on its social network account. Twitter.

Thus, he has specified that the attacks have been carried out in the Gara region and has added that the “heroic” Turkish Armed Forces “will continue to destroy the hideouts of terror with determination and firmness.” The PKK has not yet commented on this information.

Turkey uses the term “neutralized” to refer to suspects who have been killed, captured or turned in to authorities. Being bombardments, it is understood that Ankara presumes dead.

The Turkish Army has intensified its operations against the PKK -which it considers a terrorist group- both in the southeast of the country and in northern Iraq, both with a Kurdish majority, since the ceasefire between the government and the the armed group in July 2015.
