The Tunisian authorities have rescued 108 migrants this Sunday, after their boats bound for Europe sank.
The Tunisian National Guard has “frustrated six operations” and has indicated that, of the total rescued, 94 were people of different nationalities, while the rest were Tunisians, according to the TAP news agency.
In recent months, the number of migrants trying to cross the crossing from the North American coast to Italy has increased, reports the dpa agency.
According to the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights, some 18,000 migrants from Tunisia have reached Italian shores in 2022. In addition, nearly 600 have lost their lives while trying to cross the Mediterranean.
