Former US president and Republican candidate for the White House, Donald Trump, suggested this Friday during a campaign event that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) should launch an offensive against Iranian nuclear facilities, in response to Tuesday’s missile launch. by the Revolutionary Guard as the war in the Middle East expands.
“They asked (President Joe Biden), ‘What do you think about Iran? Would you attack Iran?’ And he said, ‘As long as they don’t attack the nuclear issue.’ That’s what you want to attack, right? Along the same lines, the Republican has repudiated Biden’s proposal for “a proportional and limited response against the Iranian regime”, defending that “the first thing is to attack and then worry about the rest.”
In this context, the former president has charged against Biden and the vice president and Democratic candidate for the November elections, Kamala Harris, whom he has held responsible for Iran’s attack on Israel.
“I have been talking about World War III for a long time (…). We are not going to make predictions, but (Biden and Harris) are very close to causing a global catastrophe. We have a non-existent president and vice president who should be in charge, but no one knows what is happening,” the tycoon snapped and Fox News picked it up.
Trump’s proposal contrasts with that raised by Joe Biden, who this Friday urged the Israeli Government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to look for “other alternatives” to attacks against Iranian oil facilities.
Both statements come after the president said the day before that there were “discussions” with Israel about the possibility of the target being oil rather than nuclear, statements that caused the price of oil to skyrocket.
