MADRID 8 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, held a telephone conversation this Friday with the highest representative of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmud Abbas, in which he assured him of his commitment to working for peace in the Middle East region.
In the call, Trump stated that he is willing to work with Abbas and the rest of the regional actors to resolve the crisis in the Middle East, as stated by the Palestinian Authority in a statement reported by the official Wafa news agency.
On the other hand, Abbas has taken the opportunity to once again reiterate his congratulations to Trump for his return to the White House after winning the virtual victory in last Tuesday’s presidential elections against Vice President Kamala Harris.
Thus, the president of the Palestinian Authority has wished Trump success in his second term in guiding the United States on the path “towards progress and prosperity”, at which time he has offered to collaborate to achieve a ” just and comprehensive peace”.
Abbas already congratulated the magnate last Wednesday on his victory in the United States presidential elections and even then expressed his desire to be able to work with him to achieve “peace and security” in the region and materialize his “legitimate aspirations.”
