Treasury expects Compranet to resume operations until August

Treasury says it works to restore Compranet

“The company Bravo Solution took care of the failure, but the equipment that is required will arrive in Mexico in the first three days of August. Once the necessary equipment for the backup of the information is received, it is set up and perform the necessary tests, it is estimated that the system will return to normal in two weeks,” the Treasury said in a statement.

The platform that Compranet currently supports was put into operation in 2010 and its physical infrastructure is in charge of the private company Bravo Solution.

The unit in charge of Rogelio Ramírez de la O explained that while the system is operating again, the hiring procedures will continue to be carried out in person: “No relevant process has been interrupted or postponed as a result of the above.”

Compranet is administered and operated by the Public Procurement Policy Unit of the Ministry of Public Administration.

MCCI recently said that the suspension of the platform “involves a serious risk for our right to access information and for accountability” and that, during 2022, on average, the government signs 429 daily contracts, which represent an expense of 2.7 million pesos every minute.

“Every second that this platform of the Ministry of Finance is out of service implies a serious attack against transparency. For this reason, it is worrying and unacceptable that under the justification that ‘no one is obliged to do the impossible,’ the authorities tell us that the The operation of the platform is suspended indefinitely,” reads the organization’s position.
