“Without the technicians of the future, how are these vehicles going to be fixed?”, thus begins the conversation with the Country Manager of Emasa Colombia, Claudio Castillo, whose company makes a ‘hub ‘of electromobility for Chile, Peru and Colombia.

This supplier company original auto parts of different brands for the heavy vehicle, passenger and automobile markets, decided to divide the market into exploration and exploitation.
In the first part, you have a team of professionals who train drivers, technicians, traffic police, teachers and students in electric vehicles.
“When car warranties expire, who is going to fix them? Are people prepared to touch a car that is 100% electrified and has high voltage and can kill you with a shock? We have to anticipate these things and we are doing it“notes the manager.

In the year 2040, 57% of the local fleet will be electric. And, globally, it will be 30%. Currently, Colombia has the largest electric fleet in the Latin American Pacific and it will continue to grow. And it is that so far in 2022 hybrid and electric sales add up to 13,759 cars.
“That is why we are in this role today, when pieces and parts are already required, of course we will want to provide them.Castle explains.
Referring to the market in operation, he indicates that in Colombia, in the first quarter of 2022, auto parts sales grew 19% and his company grew 25%.

“Of course, the spare parts business is growing significantly, so the sale of used cars will grow a lot and that helps us. And the bases of comparison are hard. Two years of pandemic, social protests and war, this was the same for most countries and, above all, for the Latin region”.
