The meeting, which was announced in a statement by the office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), reported that the head of the agency, Katherine Tai, will be at the Cancun tourist center on the 6th and 7th July to participate in the talks.
The governments of the United States and Canada have initiated consultations within the framework of the North American trade agreement, TMEC, for measures adopted by the Mexican authorities regarding the use of transgenic corn and there are also differences in the areas of energy and mining.
Tai will hold a trilateral meeting with Mexican Secretary Raquel Buenrostro and Canadian Minister Mary Ng, with whom he will also have bilateral meetings, according to USTR.
