TP-Link launches its small PCIe card with 2.5 GbE connectivity for less than $30

Little by little, the new devices that hit the market are making the leap to Ethernet connectivity of 2.5 Gbps or more, leaving behind the old 1,000 Mbps. Just yesterday we published the Review of the QNAP TS-433 NAS with one of these ports, and many modern laptops and routers already come with this type of connectivity without the price tag that makes them inaccessible to most.

That’s exactly what you seem to be looking for. TP-LINK with its new PCIe 2.1 x1 TX201 card. A Network card with 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connectivity in its standard RJ45 port with which to jump in network speed to any computer with a free PCI Express.

Its compact size allows it to be installed in computers with low-profile PCI Express slots, but it also includes an adapter for cases with conventional slots. Supports all Windows operating systems from Windows 7 to Windows 11, including Windows Server versions from 2008 R2 to 2022. Works with category 5e and higher Ethernet cables.

Naturally, while it can run at 2.5 Gbps, it’s also capable of running on 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps networks.

In the US it can be found for just under $30 on Amazon. so it is to be assumed that when it arrives in Europe it will do so at a similar price that is quite cheap.
