This Regional Seminar aims to discuss, reflect and dialogue on the challenges and opportunities of population aging, with a focus on the “silver economy”. During the event, the main findings of a new study on future scenarios for the growth of consumption by older people will be presented. This will allow us to reflect on the analysis dimensions of the study and its implications for public policy.
In addition, experiences will be exchanged and the needs for strengthening national capacities that the demographic change of aging implies will be analyzed, covering areas such as care, social protection systems, the socio-labor inclusion of older people, and the design and public policy management.
The meeting will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and virtual), and will have simultaneous Spanish-English interpretation. The connection data to the regional seminar are as follows: https://cepal-org.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_8E3FKQ0DQcmh0MRSGwXJbA
