() –– Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen announced this Friday through Instagram that they “finalized their divorce” after 13 years of marriage.
“We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to ensure they always receive the love and the attention they deserve,” Brady wrote in an Instagram story on Friday. “We came to the decision to end our marriage after much consideration,” she added.
For his part, Bündchen echoed Brady’s words in his statement.
“With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I amicably finalized our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children, whom I love with all my heart. We will continue to share in their upbringing to provide them with the love, care and attention they deserve,” he wrote. “The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart and while it is of course difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed by the time we have spent together and wish only the best for Tom always.”
“We only wish the best for each other as we go in search of new chapters in our lives that have yet to be written,” Brady added in his post.

But ultimately, I feel like everyone needs to make a decision that works for them.” [ellos]. He also needs to chase joy from him,” she added.
During a recent conversation on his podcastBrady spoke about some of the personal costs playing in the NFL for more than two decades has taken on him.
“I haven’t had a Christmas in 23 years and I haven’t had a Thanksgiving in 23 years. I haven’t celebrated birthdays with people I care about who were born from August to the end of January. And I can’t be at funerals and I don’t I can be at weddings,” Brady said. “I think there comes a point in your life where you say, ‘You know what? I’m satisfied and that’s enough and there’s time to move on, to move on to other parts of life.'” .
