Today No Circulation on Saturday: which cars can circulate and which rest on January 11

Second Saturday of the year. That is, those who rested with last week’s Hoy No Circula on Saturday will not have to do so today. Well, not all because these restrictions are rotating. Oh, and others will have to rest no matter what and others will have no problems.

As? Yes, all this is what you have to take into account with the restrictions of the Not on Saturday Circulation Todaythe specifics of the Hoy No Circula program designed by the CDMX Environment Secretariat (SEDEMA).

Restrictions that, if you still don’t know, do not apply throughout the entire territory of Mexico but are active in the 16 municipalities in Mexico City and in the following suburban municipalities of the State of Mexico:

• Coacalco de Berriozábal
• Cuautitlan
• Cuautitlán Izcalli
• Chalco
• Chicoloapan
• Chimalhuacan
• Ecatepec de Morelos
• Huixquilucan
• Ixtapaluca

• Nezahualcoyotl
• Nicolas Romero
• Tecámac
• Tlalnepantla de Baz
• Tultitlan
• Chalco Valley

What cars and license plates does Hoy No Circula Saturday affect?

So, what criteria are applied to know which vehicles are circulating and which are not? This is defined by SEDEMA standards and leaves circulation open to less polluting vehicles but restricts them to those that expel more gases through the exhaust pipe, with the intention of improving air quality.

These restrictions are defined by the hologram. In the case of Hoy No Circula Saturday, we may also have to take a look at the license plate number of our car. The combination Both will tell us if we are in one category or another of those detailed here:

• Cars that can circulate every Saturday
• Cars that have to rest every Saturday
• Cars that rest every other Saturday

All these restrictions only apply between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.. Therefore, it must be taken into account that at night we will be able to move without problems and that what is written here does not need to be taken into account.

This happens because some cars (hologram 0 and 00) can move every Saturday completely free of restrictions. The owners of these cars have free rein to move whenever and wherever they want. If we talk about cars with hologram 2, however, they will not be able to move in any case.

These restrictions apply every week and are unchanged. However, hologram 1 cars do have to be more attentive. These cars will rotate in their restrictions and, therefore, not every week they are required to stay home.

Cars with hologram 1 and license plate number ending in odd will have to stay home on the first Saturday of the month. Again, they will have to stay home again two weeks later. The same thing happens with the hologram one with an even plate number. In that case they will rest on the second Saturday of each month (like this January 11) and they will have to repeat two weeks later.

However, we cannot forget that there are some restrictions. Beyond time control, the following cars will be able to move with total freedom:

• Those that run on electricity, natural gas or are hybrids
• Those who have a disabled license plate
• All those dedicated to urban transportation services (includes funeral homes)
• Those that offer school or passenger transportation
• Those intended for public safety and/or civil protection

If you fail to comply with these restrictions, the fine will be 20 to 30 times the Unit of Measurement and Update (UMA), which is equivalent to 1,924.40 pesos and even 2,886.60 pesos.
