Surely you have been worried after enjoying your travels when you see that your expenses exceeded the budget. If you’re someone who has trouble controlling spending, this information is for you.

According to the experts of the ‘fintech’ Global 66, To save and avoid unnecessary expenses you should:

1. Make payments in the local currency of the country, with this you will avoid charges for the exchange rate at points of sale.

2. Avoid using credit, debit and prepaid cards that charge commission for currency conversion.

(See: Interest rates would continue to rise worldwide).

3. Find out about the rates charged by the financial institution for the use of cards. It is preferable to use products that take the spot exchange rate, that is, the price that is agreed for transactions (purchases or sales) immediately.

4. Calculate how much you could save on your international purchases, evaluate offers, where you could get good quality products at low prices.

5. Do not defer payment with your card to many installments.

Colombian travel

Despite the airline crisis Viva Air and UlTra Air, a report from the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism (Anato) ensures that more Colombians will travel abroad this year.

The report revealed that in the first quarter of 2023, 1,188,258 Colombians left the country. In other words, it increased by 12% compared to the figures for the same period in 2022.

Most of the trips were for tourism, business and events. Thus, the ‘top’ of the countries most visited by Colombians, in the first three months of the year, were the United States, Mexico, Spain, Panama and the Dominican Republic, according to Anato.

The reason that would explain the exponential increase in departures would be the drop in dollar prices during the first quarter”, assured Paula Cortés Calle, the executive president of Anato

(See: Dollar rebounded and was close to closing below $4,500).
