TikTok works on a ‘chatbot’ that can answer questions and hold conversations with users of the app, which is currently undergoing internal testing.

The Chinese platform TikTok, owned by ByteDance, is also working on “new ways to power search and discovery” on the platform, a company representative has confirmed to Bloomberg.

Specifically, she is immersed in the preparation of Tako, an experimental ‘chatbot’ that “can answer questions and have conversations” with users, according to screenshots of the app recovered by Bloomberg.

At the moment, this tool is only available to a small group of company employees, as stated by Watchful analyst Daniel Buchuk, a company that tracks development tests.

This tool, which would only be available to users over the age of 18, collects all types of information entered by users and shares it with “external service providers” anonymous to provide answers to your questions.

Although Tako registers this information, from Bloomberg they report that users can choose to delete their data, although initially they are informed that do not offer personal data to the ‘chatbot’ much less trust this tool to obtain advice of any kind. “Tako’s comments are generated by AI and may not be true or accurate,” analyst Watchful noted.
