5 Aug. (Portaltic/EP) –
TikTok has introduced a new functionality that allows “selected” artists and content creators to put tickets for their concerts and shows up for sale on the platform.
As anticipated TechCrunch, the platform owned by ByteDance has partnered with the event ticket sales company Ticketmaster to create this option so that users can buy tickets through it.
For now, this feature would only be available to “selected” creators, though it will be expanded to more users over time. That way, eligible artists can add a link to their videos that redirects the user to Ticketmaster.
Once these creators have shared their video, the event link will be displayed in the bottom left, so viewers can click and purchase tickets through an in-app browser.
As Ticketmaster has commented to this medium, with this association he hopes that the organizers and creators of events can reach their potential clients in a different way.
At the moment, groups and artists such as Demi Lovato, OneRepublic, Usher, Backstreet Boys and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), among others, have registered for this initiative.
It should be remembered that ByteDance issued a registration application at the end of last month for a patent for TikTok Music, a service that will offer users the possibility to “buy, play, share and download music, songs, albums and lyrics”, according to the description of this document.
TICKETMASTER IS ALSO ON SNAPCHAT AND SPOTIFY
This is not TicketMaster’s first foray into the social media industry. In February of this year, the company allied with snapchat To trow ticketmatcher.
This functionality offers the users of the application a series of personalized events, based on their preferences and, later, redirects them to the platform’s website to buy their tickets.
In June, TicketMaster also became part of the initiative Live Events of Spotify. This ‘feed’ locates live events based on the user’s viewing habits and location, to offer tickets to certain concerts and live shows.
